13th Ramadhan 1432H

Bismillah

We'd like to sing this song together with you this blessed Ramadhan weekend, in honor of Taha who was born in Makkah, a region known as Tihama. Hence, a line in this famous qasidah: wa unadi ya tihami, ya ma'di nal jud - 'and I keep calling O noble Makkah, source of excellence and sublimity'. Allahu Allah!

It was Friday yesterday and we learned that on fridays our blessed Prophet s.a.w, the most excellent man, is able to see and hear our deeds of the day. Though we are ashamed of our dismal performance, our heart still yearn for his blessings and prayers. We long to meet him. We need him. Because of him Allah grants us this marvelous gift of Ramadhan. May Allah grant tolerance and forbearance for we are not able to do justice to this holy month.

Tholama ashku ghoromi yaa nural wujud

Waa unaadi yaa tihaami ya ma’dinal juud

Mun yati aqso maromi ahzho bissyuhud

Wa aro Baabas Salami ya zakil judud

Ya thirazal kauni inni 'ashiq mustaham
Mughramun wal mad hu fannii ya Badrat Tamam
O Light of creations, my longing for you has mountained
My longing and poem becomes my art, O Perfect Full Moon

Isrifil 'arodho 'anni adhnaanis saqom

Fiika qod ahsantu zhonni yaa saamil 'uhud

Ya sirojal anbiyaa-i ya 'alil janaab

Ya imaamal atqiyaa-i inna qolbi dzaab

Wa’alaikallahu solla Rabbi Dzuljalal

Yakfi ya nural alhillah inna hajri thol

Sayyidi wal 'umru wala jud bil wasli jud
