Fighting with sincerity

Bismillah.

Subhanallah! How true, sincerity is the other armor we need in addition to du'a.

In life, there will be people who, for one reason or another, will react towards us in a negative manner. Some become covert enemies, others could be more aggressive and open in their hatred and aggression towards us. Allah knows best as to why He creates enemies for us.

We've learned before, about shayatin not having a bullet for one who is sincere. Today we read someone tweeting what one honorable As-Shadhilli shaykh said about sincerity. Shaykh Nuh Ha Miim Keller said: "A saint is someone who Allah gives victory over his enemies through his sincerity."

Subhanallah! How true! What better way to deal with an enemy than with sincerity. Let people think, say and do as they like.

Three or four years ago, when we first started this space, some people sent us a not so kind message accusing us of trying to pretend to be good. "Nak tunjuk baik" they say in Malay. Oh well, life is like having a jug of murky water and because we want to become a better person than we were, we keep pouring clean water over it until the dirty water eventually got replaced with a much cleaner water. We take care of our own jug.

And here's another relevant tweet from Women of History: "Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you will be criticized anyway."

Allahu a'lam.

Shaykh Allie & Akhi Ahmad: Thank you! I am humbled and thankful for the messages you sent today. May Allah accept this small deed and purify my intention. Your kind words have nullified something negative I experienced today. You both are my "shams" : ) Alhamdulillah. Jazakallah.
