That place over the rainbow

Bismillah.

You must have seen quite a few photos shared on this blog of the lovely city lights in KL. Alhamdulillah.

Many of us who live in urban areas take for granted of a well lit city or a locality for that matter. It humbled me when one of my guests who was awakened in the middle of the night chose to spend the wee hours looking out the window enjoying the bright street lights. I too enjoy watching the city at night but for this person it amazed her more than anything because the place where she lives is simply pitch-dark. Unless there is an emergency, everyone stays home from maghrib onwards. It's hard for urbanites like you and me to visualize what is pitch-black.

But Ar-Rahim is Allah, He reserves the biggest joy of anything for those who would value it the most according to the person's needs or rather receptivity. It is in His secret treasure-box the degree of joy that He would assign to each one of us, from the biggest of favor to the smallest one. Of course the yardstick for what is big or small, significant or insignificant, varies from one person to another.

It's always a joy to mingle with people from all kinds of background. We get to learn from one another and as we learn from one another, we also learn about our Creator and His Will. [By the way, there's fireworks show as I am writing. Sometimes I just don't get it, what's the occasion now?]

Anyway, yes, we learn about our Creator and Time. He is Time. There is time for hardship as there is time for ease. There is time for abundance following a time of deprivation because He has promised, with every hardship, comes ease.

To my two young guests, I wish to say this: your time will come, bi iznillah! That place where the skies are blue, that place over the rainbow, that place where dreams do come true - that place is there waiting for you!

Congrats and best wishes to U & S for your new life at uni.
If you really must look back,
only look back to smile
because dreams do come true : )
