Sunnah Food Campaign - Video Competition

  • To create more awareness on different kinds of Sunnah food and increase its popularity among Muslims and non-Muslims and provide opportunity for non-Muslims to acquaint themselves with Prophet Muhammad in order to promote inter-religious harmony.
  • To educate the would-be Sunnah food campaigners (contestants) with proper education on Prophet Muhammad's attributes/characters particularly his food/eating habits, by offering them a free one day intensive course on the subject.
  • To introduce Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to non-Muslim contestants and promote inter-racial harmony.
  • To promote creativity in popularizing a bigger variety of Sunnah food which is nutrient-rich.
  • To encourage Muslims to consume more Sunnah food on a daily basis, hence foster a deeper spiritual connection with Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

It was a delight working on SFCVC launch. It is just a small gesture of our adoration and respect for Prophet Muhammad salallah alaihi wasalam.

It would be good if at the end of this competition, we will have more non-Muslims being aware of Prophet Muhammad. That they become familiar with the term sunnah as it relates to the actions and words of Prophet Muhammad salallah alaihi wasalam. That they know, we Muslims are well acquainted with our last Prophet even though he has left us over a thousand years ago. That we even know the kinds of food he liked and consumed - the sunnah foods.

As a struggling Muslim, we know even if our prayers are not so pure and may not be acceptable or fully maqbul by the Almighty, we know that making even one salawat to the Prophet would do us plenty of good - tenfold.

We know that as we struggle, we may fall and while people may judge or ridicule us and adopt an exclusive attitude towards all other people who are seen and deemed as worse than them, there is one man who never met us - the last bastions of his ummah, yet he dreamed of meeting us, yet we were included in his thoughts and prayers, even on his last breath. He is none other than Prophet Muhammad the Last Messenger of Allah.

Allahumma salli ala Sayyidina Muhammad
habibur Rahman ada dama yaqun wama qadkan

O Allah, bestow your prayer
upon our Master Muhammad
the beloved of the Most Compassionate
to the number of things
that will be
and that were.
