It amazes me to see many more non-Muslims showing kindness in a big way without being showy and more importantly without having any elaborate "outer religious-appearance" as the sense of humanity runs deep in them.
Perhaps we Muslims should scrape-off the religious sugar coatings and focus more on the crux of the matter. I know some Hajis at my office who keep harping on their hajj experience especially during this hajj season as if they are the chosen ones and are forever pure, without realizing that being lazy, bluffing their way and claiming free credits on work matters etc. is definitely not Islamic. And that's basic.
May Allah protect us from the ill effects of a self-righteous disease.
May Allah enable us to keep a habit of showing kindness always, in a small or big way. Ameen.
