Grateful while we still can

Alhamdulillah wa shukrulillah.

I couldn't help but compare my beautiful golden KL skyline with some other cities in the Muslim world which had fallen, one after another. We must be grateful and we must protect our country.

I am reminded of one duá taught by Ibn Athaillah as-Sakandari about being grateful while we still can, while we still enjoy the blessings. 

The duá appeared in one old posting published in 2009. It's time to revisit and refresh. And remember by heart.

Allah humma arifna nikmataka
bidawa miha
wala tu arif ha lana
bi zawa liha

O Allah, make us recognize Your bounties
while we still have them,
do not make us recognize Your bounties
only after You have withdrawn them.
