The gift of silence

Bismillah.

We all know the value of silence.

On many occasions, silence is a lot sweeter than words. It frees you up from the chains of meaningless words and guard you from losing gold i.e. time.

I think people who are in their old age, those who are in their fifties and above especially, should be more calculative about their time - time spent on unnecessary speech or action. I pledge to be selfish and be very calculative about my time when I turn 50 insha Allah

This blog will be put to rest when we hit 1 million page views or when I reach 50, whichever is sooner. It will hit 700,000 clicks very soon.

I think even when we write we should be calculative and economize on words. That is a sign of maturity. When writing an email/letter to anyone on anything, be economical with words, that's what I have been taught. It reflects your attitude and professionalism.

I once received an email from a young woman who wrote to me out of unfounded suspicion and she had an emoticon like in every sentence! That's a distasteful writing style you know. And one need not use more than one exclamation mark. One is enough. That is if you have a polished punctuation mannerism. But of course it's your b_oo_y choice.

By the way, I am kinda flattered to know that there are a couple of young married women who are jealous of their husbands reading my ramblings and being in touch with me. And there are some older women in that category too. But hey, I pick my battles. I don't have to show up to every argument that I am invited to. LOL. Because time is precious. And these women, if I were them, I would rather spend time cleaning the house from flying cockroaches LOL.

Now, I shall be silent and stare at my lovely Tiffany amethyst ring : D

Alhamdulillahi hamdan yuwafi niámahu wa yukafi u mazidah

Its inherent high frequency purifies the aura of any negative energy or attachments and creates a protective shield of Light around the body, allowing one to remain clear and centered while opening to spiritual direction."

Mocking who? | A tribute to one iconic lady writer named Harper

Bismillah.

Am a little bird
hear me chirp my story
Know not how to sing my own
so I mock
that's the Divine Plan
that which I follow

If I could have my way
I would sing my own song
but all the melodies were all taken away
oh those other lyrical birdies
must I envy?

But hey
one Harper Lee makes me a celebrity!
it goes to show
stay true to who you are
even if all you do is copy
that's the role the Lord has for me

And hey
on a hit novel they say my name
kill me or not kill me
I am innocent as can be
for I merely hum the tunes of reality

Tonight, the kingdom of bird
listen to me
as I pay tribute to one writer
named Harper

And you man and woman out there
remember
justice knows no color

Harper Lee
(1926 - 2016)
Author of To Kill A Mockingbird, first published in 1960.
She died at 89.

"I knew I could never be happy
being anything
but a writer..."

Open minded | Court the change

Bismillah.

Good evening folks,

I have been talking about fabulous Feb and to my surprise the month has responded rather fabulously.

That is why we must keep sending out positive vibes because everything has got energy, everything is alive, interacts and interconnects.

Because everything is on the move and constantly changing, we have to embrace change positively. Court it! Be open minded. And when the ballgame does not look right, just change court and get on with a new game plan.

If you want to sharpen your mind further [assuming you have a budget to reward yourself] try amethyst.

This purple gem, known as Gem of Fire, according to crystalvaults.com, "has the ability to expand the higher mind, and enhance your creativity and passion. It strengthens the imagination and intuition and refines the thinking process. It helps in the assimilation of new ideas, putting thought into action and brings projects to fruition. It is a talisman of focus and success."

Sounds good eh?

Ahah, I'll show you my lovely purple gem someday ok. Until then, let's stay focused and keep planting the seeds of success.

Tata for now.

In love with the mind?

Bismillah.

May peace be upon you.

Finally I've got some time to write because my griller is broken. LOL. Yup, been cooking and entertaining so much, the griller gave up on me. They say the way to a person's heart is through the stomach.

But if you and I are one the same wavelength, then you too might agree with Shakespeare:
"Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind."

Needless to say, Shakespeare would be more attracted to his date's intelligence than her physical beauty or if she could cook Michelin-starred kinda meal. LOL.

Then again, we all have our own definition of love because at the end of the day, the heart of the matter is a matter of the heart.

Ah yes, if I may half-quote Nayyirah Waheed, the author of Salt:
"As a writer,
if someone falls in love with my work.
I know they have fallen in love
with my mind...."

: )

Have a pleasant and productive week, folks. Meantime, keep love in your heart.

Oh you single ladies out there, don't fret. Having a man in the house is not everything. No point being married for decades and having a man in your house, if you're not in his heart. Worse still, if his heart roams outside the house, even if the body is stationary inside. LOL.

"Look not for love that is enveloped in skin, for you would never find a formless substance imprisoned. Look for it in the air, perchance you shall convene, there." - Eza

Gosh, that's my lame attempt at trying to sound like Shakespeare.
LOL.

   Peace!

Good vibes only | Happy Chinese New Year | Turquoise

Bismillah.

Hi folks,

Just a quick shout out to our Chinese friends:
Gong Xi Fa Cai

I guess regardless of race, everyone in Malaysia is letting their hair down and keeping their feet up this holiday.

Remember guys, no matter where you are, carry and spread good vibes only!

This new year, let's develop a good habit, try to drink on a daily basis, two liters of water, if not three. And eat plenty of fruits. But of course this Chinese New Year, we all eat plenty of oranges don't we?

Pray, may we have a "turquoise" year!
Turquoise means:
refreshing
feminine
calming
sophisticated
energy
wisdom
serenity
wholeness
creativity
emotional balance
good luck
spiritual grounding
friendship
love
joy
tranquility
patience
intuition
and
loyalty.

We all love turquoise waters, don't we?

It's a long weekend in Malaysia as we celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year on Monday the 8th of fabulous February.

So I am just like many of you, busy grabbing the opportunity to spend the holidays beneficially.

I pray today will be awesome to you too. Ameen.

1st Feb 2016 | How do you know?

Bismillah.

How could I let 1st Feb passed me by without saying something about it, even if it's belated.

I don't know why, but Feb sounds promising. Feb sounds optimistic, it's like telling us, the one to come is better than the side we are used to. How do we know? Sometimes we just know! Don't we?

I have got a couple of things brewing this Feb-Brew-ary so I won't be so regular here.
In the meantime, let's try not to resist the changes that come our way cos it could be better than what we are used to.

WaSalamualaikum warahmatullah
