Shaykh Raja, as many of the Naqshbandi followers knew him; His Royal Highness Raja Dato' Seri Ashman Shah ibni Sultan Azlan Shah, has been invited to the realm of barzakh early this morning Friday, 30th March 2012.
I am just simply lost for words...
O dear blessed soul, I'm very glad I once told you that I missed you and that put a big grin on your serene and charming countenance. Now, you will be missed even more...
Al-Fatihah
Al-Fatihah. Semoga rohnya dicucuri rahmat dan ditempatkan dikalangan orang-orang yang beriman dan beramal soleh.

ReplyDeletewe mureed of Pakistan are shocked to hear such a bad news. Our deepest condolences and sympathy to his Majesty Sultan Azlan Shah of Perak and all his Royal family members and followers in Malaysia.
We pray for his pure and most blessed soul to reach its highest Maqam in Jannat ul Firdus. May Allah (SWTA) grant patience to his family members and followers in Malaysia. Allah Humma Ameen, Allah Humma Ameen, Allah Humma Ameen.
Ameen Allah Humma Ameen.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
I was about to settle down in my office when I heard the sad news. My mom and I left KL at about 11.30 a.m. and we arrived at the castle in Kuala Kangsar, Perak at about 2.30 p.m.
Alhamdulillah, we were lucky to be able to see him for the last time. He looked the most handsome I've ever seen him. He looked half his age. He looked like an Arab Prince! So charming and calm.
MashaAllah!
I've now just arrived in Penang and trying to relive the moments of this unforgettable Friday.
I realized now, that no wonder last nite there was a sudden surge of traffic to one posting I made about him.
His ardent followers from India called me several times today. Obviously people were feeling nervous and despondent about his sudden death. One of them kept crying as he put on the Naqshbandi Taj which Shaykh Raja had gifted him. Another friend reminisced the good times he had playing football with Shaykh Raja. Anyone who came to know him albeit through a brief encounter, would testify that he was a humble prince, very humble.
I have never seen the soft side of his elder brother, the Crown Prince of Perak. I have never seen so much brotherly love. He was visibly moved, even more emotional than his wife.
Oh, the daughter who had just arrived from Australia...mashaAllah...she appeared calm and collected. Imagine if you were in her shoes. To have to travel a great distance, to come home to your lifeless father, to walk into a quiet room as everyone stood up to welcome you, but she was so composed mashaAllah.
Oh I must say that my mother was very delighted that we could step inside the beautiful castle. Shaykh Raja was clearly a people's prince. If it was not for his involvement in tariqa, people like me and my mother would never get a chance to come so close to the royal family.
At the burial compound my mom happened to sit near the family's maidservant. So we heard how it all happened but I will not mention it here, for 'adab' sake.
I am just an ordinary Naqshbandi supporter and I know there are many Naqshbandi mureed and his close companions who have had plenty of special moments with him.
But you know each one of us has a heart and no one knows the degree of affection which the other has. And each one of us express our love differently.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the bereaved family especially.
Al-Fatihah
Ezza
p/s There will be tahlil recitation for Almarhum Shaykh Raja Ashman every night after Ishak until Thursday 5th April.

great loss
ReplyDeleteMay Allah Almighty grant Raja Ashman the highest of heavens. I was honored to be his guest in 2001 during our visit to Malaysia and was struck by his sincere love and humility, his tireless service to his community, and his excellence of conduct and character.
ReplyDeleteHis passing is a shock to many of us. Yet Allah Almighty calls back those who are dear to Him. Al-Fatiha for his blessed soul and for his family and community.
Best regards to all in Malaysia from the United States.
Ameen to your dua Ihsan.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for your heartfelt comments and kind wishes.
Best regards to all of you in the US.
On our way back to KL from Penang today, we stopped by at Masjid Ubudiah and the maqam.
ReplyDeleteI was made to understand that Shaykh Bahauddin will be leading Khatam Khawajagan at the maqam this evening and tahlil at the palace afterwards.
Though we're not able to join, our souls are with the muhibeen bi-iznillah.

ReplyDeleteWa'alaykumSalam,
ReplyDeleteAmeen atas doanya.
Allahu'alam.
Ezza
Sungguh terdetik di sanubari
ReplyDeletekala menatap wajah mu
bagai Ibnu al'Arabi
rupa nan tampan itu
atau mungkin juga Salman Al-Farisi
Bahagia menyapa hati seketika
dalam duka bersulam sendu
engkau pergi...kaku
tapi ku sedar
ia selayaknya buat insan seistimewa mu
dan pastinya, Tuhan jua yang lebih tahu!
subhanallah....bait2 syair yg indah buat almarhum raja ashman....sedih tp kita kena redho....al fatihah buat arwah

ReplyDeleteTerlalu banyak kenangan bersama beliau lebih lagi dalam spiritual kerana hampir 12 tahun menjadi mureed beliau. Kehilangan beliau sukar dicari ganti.
ReplyDeleteMashaAllah! Saudara sangat bertuah terpilih menjadi murid beliau begitu lama!
Ezza
Rindu itu pun datang lagi:
ReplyDeleteTiga purnama bersilih ganti,
Ingatan padamu menjelma selalu,
Susuk tubuh Yang Mulia Raja
bergaul, bergurau senda
suara nan mesra di halwa telinga
terbayang-bayang di ruangan mata
Alunan zikir sang khalifah
memecah sunyi Bukit Damansara
Putera yang siangnya hebat di dunia
Malam merendah diri bersama muridnya
Dimana kan kami cari ganti
serupa dengan mu?
Apakah di syurga nanti kita kan bertemu?
Acap kali rindu menerpa sanubari
"Tholama ashku ghoromi..."
Betapa lama aku mengadu tentang kesunyian ini?
Betapa lama pun aku mengadu
rindu itu pasti akan datang lagi!
Is the Maqam of HRH Raja Ashman open to the public for Ziyarat? Also, i will be visiting KL. are there any Maqams in KL for offering Ziyarat and prayers?
ReplyDeleteSalam Farhad,
ReplyDeleteThe maqam complex is open to public. It's adjacent to Ubudiyah Mosque (a popular landmark) which is about 3 hours drive north of KL.
Even if the entrance to the maqam complex is closed, you could still view Shaykh Raja Ashman's maqam from the gate as it is only about 15 feet away. If you see security personnel around, you may ask them to open the gate for you. Insha Allah.
Any other maqams in KL? There is one in Gombak Sungai Chinchin on the way to the International Islamic Uni but it's not that easily accessible to foreigners.
If you have got time, you may want to venture to Pulau Besar, Malacca (2 hours south of KL). And since you are in this region, I strongly recommend that you visit Maqam of Habib Nuh on Palmer Road in Singapore. Insha Allah. Pray Allah make your trip fruitful and blissful. Ameen.
