Growing eco

Bismillah.

Alhamdulillah wa shukrulillah that I am attached with an organization which has recorded revenue growth for many consecutive quarters and growing InshaAllahWhat's cool about us is our good looking and brilliant CEO. Today I learned that technically speaking we could qualify as a religious company because one of our work behaviors is working without ego. Our CEO said he didn't believe in ego-system but eco-system.

Ego, clearly is a branch of mazmumah trait. Ecosystem as defined by Wiki is a community of living organisms in conjunction with the non-living components of their environment i.e. air, water and mineral soil, interacting as a system.

Let's try define an ego-system. It is arguably a community of big-headed and narcissistic living organisms in conjunction with the non-living components of their environment which in addition to making the latter suffer, it creates disharmony and unproductive environments among itself.

We all know that eco is a prefix related to the environment or ecology. We learned in Islam about three core relationships:
- relationship with the Creator
- relationship with fellow human beings and
- relationship with the environment.

Environment in this context refers to the animal kingdom, vegetation and the other non-living components e.g. rivers and mountains. Environment, according to the Free Dictionary may also refer to the circumstances or conditions that surround one.

Heh heh, tonight is "definition" night.

Anyway, environment or circumstances can only fall into two broad categories good or bad, easy or difficult, happy or sad, all stemming from His attributes Al-Basith or Al-Qabidh.

What I am trying to say is if you're happy and you know it clap your hands; if you're sad and though you can't help it, try not to frown. When we are happy we express shukur. When we are sad we try to demonstrate sabr.

Sidi Hamid Iqbal Khan is a gifted artist based in Pakistan. He'll be delighted if you care to browse and order his artwork here http://www.redbubble.com/people/hamidsart
He and many of our brothers and sisters in Pakistan have been adversely affected by the recent eco-disasters. Your small gesture will essentially help them grow from Qabdhu state to Basthu state, inshaAllah.

Jummah Mubarrak!
